We are so excited to bring a young adult collective (18-29 year olds) back to Hope Church, especially at a time in our city’s history where there is so much apathy towards anything religious, animosity towards the church and an inadequate community for young believers.
Anytime in Scripture the Lord names something, it is a prophetic statement of how they are to function in the Spirit. That is why we are called “The Oaks.” Taken from Isaiah 61, Scripture says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to preach good news to the poor, bind up broken hearts, free captives, proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of his vengeance, comfort those who mourn–these will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. They will build up ancient ruins, they will repair ruined cities the devastations of many generations.”
At The Oaks, you can expect to find a community of friends enjoying life, a place where you will encounter God through worship and prayer and find young adults committed to making Jesus famous in the earth. Through community, worship, prayer and mission, we believe we can fulfill Isaiah 61 in our city, but it won’t stop there.
We meet Sunday nights at 6:30pm at various locations. Check our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/theoakssgf for more info.
Although this is a ministry out of Hope Church, all young adults throughout the Springfield area are welcome!
