Night of Outreach

What to Expect:
Instead of hosting a Wednesday night service, we have a variety of outreach opportunities to serve with local organizations around Springfield.

When: December 4, 2024

Outreach Opportunities

  • 5:30-7:30PM Crosslines Food Pantry: volunteers will serve as personal shoppers at a local food bank and will organize warehouse supplies. Children of all ages are welcome to participate with a parent or guardian supervising them.
  • 5:00-6:30PM Serving at the Homeless Shelter: volunteers will be serving a meal to the homeless and organizing cold weather supplies at the shelter. Volunteers must be ages 12+ with a parent or guardian.
  • 5:30-8PM Wilder Elementary School Project: volunteers will organize Wilder’s new storm shelter space which will serve as a multipurpose room for PE, music and a stage for shows/gatherings. The PE and music teachers have storage rooms filled with supplies for the team to organize and place in their new functional space. Volunteers must be ages 12+ with a parent or guardian.
  • 6-8PM Hope Christmas Choir: volunteer choir members will bring joy and cheer to several locations around the city. You will be divided into groups who will be visiting nursing homes, senior living facilities and Mercy Hospital. Small gifts will be provided for you to give away at each location to the residents and patients. Elementary age children and older are welcome to participate with a parent or guardian.
  • 6-8PM HSM Student Outreach: High School Students will be partnered with team leaders to pray for people in the city at local gas stations and quick-service restaurants. They will be giving away small gift cards to spread joy and hope to the people God puts in their path. Students will meet at Hope Church and ride with their HSM leader to various site locations nearby.
