Toddlers
Our toddler curriculum provides 4 activities that are meant to be shared throughout the service. They are activities that are designed to be repeated easily and often. A specific worship time is also offered at this age

MEET THE LEADERS
Mark Johnson
Children's Ministry Pastor
I’ve had the incredible joy of serving as a children’s pastor at Hope Church for over 14 years. I strive to create a safe and engaging environment where children can grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus, discover their unique gifts, and develop a strong sense of community that will guide them throughout their lives. It’s truly a privilege to witness their enthusiasm, curiosity, and spiritual growth each and every day.

infants
You should feel confident leaving your little one with us! Each week, you will be asked to complete a form so you can express your wishes regarding feeding times, sleep times and how quickly you would like to be contacted should your child become fussy. You know your child best and we want to honor their schedule, whenever possible. You are welcome to check on your child at any time.
Our nurseries are divided by age, 0-6 months and 7-12 months. We have a variety of swings, rockers and bouncers available. We have a minimum of two adult volunteers (18+) at any time and add volunteers as our numbers increase. We only allow female volunteers to change diapers.
We have a curriculum for all ages, including babies! Each month we share one of three foundational truths with your child: God Made Me, God Loves Me and Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever. We speak a blessing and pray over your child during each service. We worship with our older infants, as well.
You are welcome to pick your child up at any time to nurse & we can text you if/when they get fussy. A quiet, peaceful nursing Mothers’ room is available just off the sanctuary for you to use & we are happy to provide you with the access code.

Toddlers
Our toddler rooms are divided by age: 13-18 months and 19-24 months. Each room will have a minimum of 1 adult and 1 youth volunteer in each room. We work very closely with our Elementary and Student Ministry leaders before placing youth in our classrooms. In addition, all youth are required to go through an orientation, yearly ministry training and are always under the supervision of an adult. We only allow adult females to change diapers & changing stations are visible in each room . We also have cribs available, should your child need to nap during service.
Our toddler curriculum shares one of three foundational truths with your child: God Made Me, God Loves Me and Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever. We reinforce these truths through activities & play during each service. Because toddlers learn best by repetition, we repeat the same theme for an entire month. We share a Bible story, we worship together and we have craft time during each of our services.
We exclusively offer Multi-Grain Cheerios and water for all children ages 1-5. This allows all children to have the same snack and addresses most parent concerns regarding food allergies. A detailed list of ingredients for cheerios is listed outside your child’s classroom. If your child is allergic to multi-grain cheerios, please inform the Hope Kids Welcome Team or your child’s teacher.
We know separation can be hard at this age, so to simplify & expedite drop offs, we only ask you to provide us with a diaper and pacifier (if they use one). We provide wipes, sippy cups and snacks!

Preschoolers
Our staffing ratios vary with age, but always exceed state guidelines for staffing. Every room will have a minimum of one adult and one youth volunteer. We work very closely with our Elementary and Student Ministry leaders before placing youth in our classrooms. In addition, all youth are required to go through an orientation, yearly ministry training and are always under the supervision of an adult.
All of our preschool classrooms have an on-suite restroom and a large glass window in the restroom door. We are never behind a closed solid door with your child and only adult females are able to assist children with restroom needs/diaper changes. All changing stations are easily visible within the classroom. All children who are currently potty training are required to wear a pull-up, and we are happy to assist with their needs. Potty training stickers are available for you to place on your child’s back when you drop them off at their classroom.
If a child repeatedly exhibits distracting or disrespectful behavior, you may be asked to come and pick them up, as needed. We follow a consistent set of guidelines when correcting behavior that does include a period of timeout for ages 2 and up. You will be notified if your child harms another child or if we have consistent behavior issues that require your assistance. If you have specific questions, please talk with your child’s teacher.
Our goal is to spend time outside during each service, so please bring a coat for your child when it is cool. 5-10 minutes of fresh air can help get the wiggles out! Our playground is well lit for night time use and is completely fenced in. Our preschoolers will go outside if the temperature is 32 degrees or greater, but we also take into consideration wet or windy conditions when determining if we will go outside. We do keep extra coats on hand, in case you forget!
Our preschool curriculum shares one of 3 foundational truths with your child: God Made Me, God Loves Me and Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever. Our preschoolers experience both a Large and Small Group time together. They come together in Large Group for an exciting time where we share a skit, bible story, offering and worship. Our Small Group time occurs in the individual classrooms, where teachers take the information shared in Large Group and make it applicable to your child.

This is our store that’s open approximately every other week, where our elementary kids can spend their Kids Cash. Your child can earn Kids Cash by bringing their Bible, listening to the lesson, treating others with kindness, and helping when asked.
In the store they can buy toys, trinkets, fun school supplies, and candy. We also have four different opportunities for them to use their kids cash to help others:
- 10 Kids Cash for Dogwood Ranch
- 20 Kids Cash for three chickens for a family in Tanzania
- 40 Kids Cash for a goat for a family in Indonesia
- 100 Kids Cash for a well for a village in Africa.
We take these purchases with the Kid Cash and donate real money to these ministry opportunities.
